There are some broad themes running through my work all of which are influenced by internal dialogue: the space we give ourselves to explore our uncensored thought and feelings which we do not share with others.
I believe the function of art is to enable the viewer to access that space inside their own head.
An extension of these themes is the internal dialogue of childhood memory which is evident in my most recent work.
When executing the still life works I experience a sense of space and calm. A personal space which is uniquely mine. These are my libraries and cathedrals.
