The internal dialogue of my childhood memory from infancy to school
The song in Dublin’s Fair City, is a song I remember my Irish mother singing to me pre-school. This soundscape is a foray into my own internal dialogue of childhood memories concentrating specifically on my first day at school.
The words are recorded from the voice of my granddaughter, Chloe Skelton, and reflect the internal narrative I remember streaming through my head. It was my first day at school. I was painting a house and the brush in my hand was enormous. I turned round and my mother had left. The child and my voice overlap in an attempt to morph the child I was and the person I am now.
